Dungeon Picnic system requirements
Windows 11 minimums for the limited demo. Mac, Linux, and Deck stay unlisted.
Check this page before you download the limited Dungeon Picnic demo. Lapismine lists a short Windows 11 minimum on Steam. There is no recommended spec block, no Mac row, and no Linux row. Steam Deck compatibility is Unknown. The full game is still to be announced; these numbers are what the store shows for the current PC build and for demo app 5207170 sitting under product app 3736800.
If your machine misses a line below, do not assume a workaround. Confirm the store page, then come back. After the PC is fine, sketch a party on the party planner and follow wishlist steps so Steam can notify you for Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026.
Minimum spec table
Steam currently publishes only a Minimum block. Copy it as listed. Do not invent a Recommended column.
| Item | Minimum (Steam) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 | Written as Windows11 on the store. No Windows 10 line. |
| Processor | Intel Core i3 | No generation listed. No AMD line. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | Shared with the OS. Close heavy browsers before a run. |
| Graphics | OpenGL support, VRAM 1 GB | Driver must expose OpenGL. 1 GB VRAM is the floor. |
| Storage | 1 GB available space | SSD is not required in the listing. |
| Mac | Not listed | No macOS minimum exists on the store. |
| Linux | Not listed | No native Linux minimum exists on the store. |
| Steam Deck | Unknown | Compatibility is not Verified, Playable, or Unsupported in public notes. |
The demo that started on 6 September 2026 uses the same Windows store listing. It covers the first area and four characters. Save data does not transfer into the product version, so a weak laptop that barely runs the demo will not magically pass a later build.
Input, audio, and Steam feature flags
These flags sit next to the spec table on Steam. They are not extra horsepower; they tell you how you can play the limited demo on a qualifying PC.
| Flag | Store meaning | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| Gamepad recommended | Lapismine prefers a controller | Keyboard-only is still listed as an option. |
| Keyboard only | You can play without a pad | Bindings belong in the getting started guide. |
| Playable without timed input | No mandatory quick-time presses | Command battles wait on you. ReAct extra turns are not reflex tests. |
| Partial controller support | Pad works; not every prompt is guaranteed | Xbox-style pads are the usual Steam default. |
| Mouse wheel support | Wheel is recognized | Useful on event lists and menus. |
| Custom volume | Separate volume control | Stereo sound is listed; there is no surround claim. |
| Family Sharing | Steam Family Sharing is allowed | Sharing does not create a second local seat. The game is single-player. |
Read ReAct rules in the combat guide if you thought extra turns required a timed mash. They do not. Break a weakness, spend shared MN, take the extra action.
What the listing does not say
No resolution cap, no 60 FPS promise, no dedicated GPU brand, and no Vulkan or DirectX row. OpenGL plus 1 GB VRAM is the entire graphics sentence. Integrated laptops can meet 1 GB VRAM on paper and still stutter if the iGPU shares the same 8 GB RAM stick the OS is using. If the first-area map hitching persists after you close overlays, treat it as a spec miss, not as a missing setting in this wiki.
No cloud-save guarantee is written here. Demo progress does not carry into the product build even if Steam Cloud later appears. Plan to replay the first area on the TBA release. Details sit in the demo guide and on demo launch notes.
Client languages on Steam are English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese for interface and subtitles. This wiki is English and Japanese. Language packs do not change the RAM floor.
Demo download size versus the 1 GB line
The 1 GB storage line is a minimum, not a promise that the installer is 1 GB forever. Leave extra space for Steam shader cache and Windows updates. Install from the Steam store page after you wishlist. Demo identifiers: product 3736800, demo 5207170. If the demo button is missing, confirm you are on Windows and signed into Steam, then reread wishlist.
Gamepad users should pair the pad before launching. Keyboard users can still finish the first area. There is no second-player control scheme because the game is single-player: you command four heroines from one seat.
Troubleshooting before you file a bug
- Confirm Windows 11, 8 GB free-enough RAM, and an OpenGL driver with 1 GB VRAM.
- Disable extra overlays (recording, RGB, extra Steam extra windows).
- Set custom volume so you can hear Break cues without maxing the OS mixer.
- Try keyboard-only if a partial pad mapping skips a menu.
- If the client crashes, post on the Steam bug discussion with OS build, GPU name, and whether you used pad or keyboard.
Do not ask this wiki to certify a Steam Deck dock, a 32:9 monitor, or a handheld Windows clone. Those setups are unlisted. Wait for Lapismine or Steam to publish them. Next Fest from 19 October 2026 may refresh the store block; recheck this table then, and follow dates on Steam Next Fest.
After the PC is honest, stop tweaking drivers and go play. Open the party planner for Astrologia, Apothecary, Kannagi, and Aries Knight. Keep Harvester and Samurai marked incomplete. Then run the first area with shared MN and the first Star Fragment (SPD +25 percent, act first at battle start). Official posts live on the links hub. This page will not grow a fake Mac row to fill space.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for demo runs, ReAct combat, and party building.
Is there a Mac or Linux build?
Not on the Steam listing. Only Windows 11 minimums are published. Recheck the store before you buy hardware, and keep wishlist notifications on.
Will the demo run on Steam Deck?
Steam currently shows Unknown. This wiki will not guess Verified or Playable. Follow Lapismine through the links hub if that badge changes.
Do I need a gamepad?
Recommended, not required. Keyboard-only play is listed. Mouse wheel support is listed. See getting started for first-run controls.
Does a weak PC block ReAct extra turns?
No. ReAct is a battle rule, not a frame-perfect prompt. The game is playable without timed input. Read the combat guide for Break timing in rules, not in milliseconds.
Will demo saves count on a better PC later?
No. The limited demo does not transfer saves into the product version. Replay the first area after the TBA release. Details are in the demo guide.
