Dungeon Picnic Limited Demo Launch
Started 6 September 2026. First area, four characters, no save transfer. Full game still TBA.
Lapismine opened a limited-time Dungeon Picnic demo on 6 September 2026. The full game remains to be announced on Steam app 3736800. This page records what the developer actually posted: first area, four characters, no save transfer, streaming allowed, bugs on Steam discussion. It is not a walkthrough of every event node. For routing, use the limited demo notes. For the Break loop, use the ReAct combat guide.
A demo trailer went up with the launch. This wiki does not embed it here. Watch it from the store page or the links hub. The older first trailer from 11 June 2025 is a Steam-page reveal, not a demo-launch clip.
What you can play
The demo covers the first area only. You can use four characters: Astrologia, Apothecary, Kannagi, and Aries Knight. That is the entire published demo roster. Harvester and Samurai have been shown in development posts; they are not listed here as first-area starters. If a download build later adds a name, this page should cite the new post instead of assuming it.
Party size is still four. The game is single-player. Shared Mana (MN), ReAct Breaks, enemy ReAct, crits on broken targets, and cooldowns all apply. Unlimited Meteor still spends ready skills. Star Shards still buy level-ups. Aether still sits as a run currency. Exploration is still mapless events, not a traditional floor map. None of those systems become a full campaign just because the demo is public.
What does not carry over
Lapismine stated that some specs differ, so demo saves do not transfer into the product version. Treat every Star Shard spend as practice, not as a persistent account. If you are grinding for a transfer that will never happen, stop and spend the time on Break timing instead.
The product version is still TBA. Clearing the first area does not unlock a hidden launch date. Wishlist the unfinished game on the wishlist tracker so Steam can ping you when a store change actually happens.
Streaming and bug reports
The developer posted a live-play guideline with the demo:
- Streaming and Let’s Plays on video sites are allowed.
- Site monetization (including Super Chat-style tools) is allowed.
- A Steam store link in the video description is requested as a courtesy.
That is permission to show the first area, not a promise that every later area will use the same rule. If you stream, say on-screen that this is a limited demo of an unreleased game.
Bug reports belong on the Steam discussion board for app 3736800, not only on social replies. Quote the build, the four-character party, and the event node if you can. A clip helps. Do not file a transfer ticket expecting the save to move later; the no-transfer rule is already posted.
How to spend the limited window
- Confirm Windows 11 and 8 GB RAM against the store’s minimums before you download. The store lists Intel Core i3, OpenGL with 1 GB VRAM, and 1 GB storage as the floor.
- Read the demo guide so mapless event picks are not a surprise.
- Learn shared MN on the combat guide. Break a weakness before you dump Unlimited Meteor.
- Check identities on the character roster. Kannagi is a fox shrine maiden with a purification wooden sword. Aries Knight is a maid knight whose kit is not fully public.
- Use the early character ranking and early skill ranking as speculation, not as a locked ladder.
- Report bugs on Steam. Wishlist on the wishlist tracker.
Astrologia’s published kit (Hellfire Comet, Blizzard Comet, Binary Star, Unlimited Meteor at 2 MN CD12, Lunar Eclipse, Stellar Exploit, cooldown down on Break) is the easiest first-area lab for ReAct. Apothecary’s Counter Heal (2 MN, CD6, 50% Heal.ELM to all allies), Heal All, and Poison Injection are the published recovery/chip set. Do not invent extra brew names because a screenshot looked crowded.
How this demo connects to Next Fest
The same first-area demo is lined up to be exhibited at Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026. That is a second discovery window, not a second game. This wiki will not invent fest-only bosses or a booth schedule. Read the Steam Next Fest page for wishlist advice and for what has not been posted.
Public development history — character-creation notes in March 2024, ReAct articles in June 2024, Steam page on 11 June 2025, Astrologia passive in February 2026, Harvester intro in April 2026, level-up animation in August 2026 — lives on the development timeline. Those stamps explain why a demo exists now. They are not a countdown calendar.
What not to expect from this build
- A full campaign after the first area.
- Save transfer into 1.0.
- A published Aries Knight kit just because she is playable.
- Harvester’s HP-spend plan or Samurai’s First Star Fragment as guaranteed demo drops.
- A full release day hiding in the download button.
Steam still lists the product as TBA. Languages on the store are English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. This wiki is English and Japanese. If a patch note changes MN costs or the four-character list, come back here; do not assume the 6 September 2026 post is frozen forever.
The updates hub keeps this recap next to fest and timeline pages so a single social post cannot rewrite the whole schedule. Official URLs stay on the links hub.
If you only remember one rule from the 6 September 2026 post, remember the no-transfer line: the first-area demo is a practice slice with four heroines, streaming is fine, bugs go to Steam discussion, and the product version is still a separate, TBA build that will not inherit this save.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for demo runs, ReAct combat, and party building.
When did the Dungeon Picnic demo start?
6 September 2026, as a limited-time first-area slice. The full game is still to be announced. Play notes are on the demo guide.
Which four characters are in the demo?
Astrologia, Apothecary, Kannagi, and Aries Knight. Harvester and Samurai have been shown elsewhere. See the roster and the character ranking.
Can I stream the demo?
Yes. Lapismine allowed video-site streams and monetization, and asked for a Steam link in the description as a courtesy. The game is still unreleased; say that on stream.
Where should I report bugs?
On the Steam discussion board for app 3736800. Include party, event node, and a clip if you can. Store and community URLs are on the links hub.
Will this demo be at Steam Next Fest?
Yes. The developer said this demo will be exhibited at Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026. That is not a full release. See the Next Fest page.
Do I need to learn ReAct before downloading?
You can download first, but Break extra turns, shared Mana, and cooldowns are the whole fight. Read the combat guide before you waste Star Shards on a raw-damage plan.
