Dungeon Picnic Updates Hub
Demo window, Next Fest exhibit, and public development notes. Full game still TBA.
Dungeon Picnic is a single-player party-building roguelike RPG from solo developer Lapismine (Steam app 3736800). The full game is still to be announced. This hub collects public schedule notes so a demo date is not mistaken for a ship date.
Three child pages sit under this overview:
- Demo launch recap — limited-time demo from 6 September 2026, first area, four characters, no save transfer.
- Steam Next Fest notes — exhibit from 19 October 2026. No invented booth details.
- Development timeline — Ci-en and X posts from 2024 through 2026, plus the Steam AI disclosure.
If you need play advice rather than dates, leave this hub for the limited demo notes, the ReAct combat guide, the character roster, and the early character ranking. Store and social URLs live on the links hub. Wishlist reminders live on the wishlist tracker.
Current public status
| Item | Public status |
|---|---|
| Full release | To be announced |
| Play mode | Single-player |
| Limited demo | Started 6 September 2026; first area; four characters |
| Demo saves | Do not transfer into the product version |
| Steam Next Fest | Exhibit from 19 October 2026 |
| Languages on Steam | English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese |
The demo is a limited-time slice. Lapismine has not posted a full release day on the store page. Blog stamps such as March 2024 (character creation) or August 2026 (level-up animation) are development markers, not launch dates. The timeline page lists those markers in order so they stay in the development column.
What the 6 September 2026 demo is
The first-area demo uses Astrologia, Apothecary, Kannagi, and Aries Knight. Streaming is allowed, including site monetization; a store link in the description is requested, not required as a legal term. Bug reports belong on the Steam discussion board for app 3736800. Specs can differ from the product build, which is why saves do not carry over.
Use that window to learn shared Mana, ReAct Breaks, and cooldowns. Do not treat a cleared first area as proof that Harvester or Samurai will be in your opening roster. Those two have been shown in development posts; they are not the demo four. The demo launch recap keeps those rules in one place. Combat practice belongs on the combat guide.
What Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026 is
Lapismine said the demo will be exhibited at Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026. This wiki will not invent a booth layout, a timed live stream, or an end date that the developer has not posted. A fest is a discovery window: wishlist, try the first area, report bugs. It is not a full release and it is not a promise that new areas unlock for the fest. Practical wishlist steps sit on the Next Fest page and the wishlist tracker.
How to read developer posts
Lapismine posts systems on Ci-en and short kit notes on X. The Steam page carries an AI disclosure: some characters were designed by AI and created by the developer. That sentence is a store fact, not a ranking of art quality. Trailer IDs exist for the 11 June 2025 Steam-page trailer and the 6 September 2026 demo trailer; this updates hub does not embed them. Follow the links hub for the live URLs.
When a post shows a skill such as Unlimited Meteor or Counter Heal, it is evidence for the skill ranking. When a post shows a date, it is evidence for this hub. Mixing those two jobs is how rumor pages accidentally invent a launch day.
What this hub will not do
- It will not announce a full release that Steam still labels TBA.
- It will not claim demo saves transfer.
- It will not add extra platforms that the store does not list. Steam lists single-player on Windows.
- It will not treat Next Fest as a second demo with unpublished areas.
If a future Steam news post changes any row in the status table, these pages should move with that post. Until then, the working summary is: play the limited first-area demo, wishlist the TBA product build, and keep dates in the development column.
A cleared first-area run is still not a ship date. Keep 6 September 2026 and 19 October 2026 on the demo/exhibit line, keep every 2024–2026 blog stamp on the timeline, and leave the product version where Steam left it: to be announced.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for demo runs, ReAct combat, and party building.
Is Dungeon Picnic fully released?
No. Steam still lists the full game as to be announced. A limited-time demo of the first area started on 6 September 2026. See the demo launch recap.
When is Steam Next Fest for this game?
Lapismine said the demo will be exhibited at Steam Next Fest from 19 October 2026. That is an exhibit window, not a full release. Details stay on the Next Fest page.
Do demo saves transfer?
No. Some specs differ, so demo saves do not carry into the product version. The demo guide and the launch recap repeat that rule so it is not missed.
Where do official links live?
Steam app 3736800, Ci-en, X, and YouTube are collected on the links hub. Wishlist steps are on the wishlist tracker.
Which characters are in the demo?
Astrologia, Apothecary, Kannagi, and Aries Knight. Harvester and Samurai have been shown in development posts. Ranking context is on the character ranking.
